As you know lots of items are available on-line to buy at cheaper prices. I had no problem, so far, with Amazon using my credit card.

e-bay and Paypal, I have never used them. How is your experience buying online on ebay ?

I want to try ebay with my debit card without having a Paypal account...what are pros and cons of this kind of payment, using debit card online, when the seller is from india/abroad?

I dont want to use credit card for ebay's buying for some reason.
Your tips and suggestions would be appreciated.

When you use Paypal, the ebay seller does not see your credit card information. Seller receives payment via Paypal. You can link your chequing account also. I am not sure about debit card though. Your experience of ebay is going to depend on seller, how fast do they ship, how they respond to complaints, etc. You can check their feedback rating before buying. If you buy something from US, it takes an average of 3 weeks to arrive, from China around 4-5 weeks, India might be in same range.

If you plan to buy through e-bay "paypal" is the best method to pay . You can stop payments if goods received are defective or doesnt fit the description .
In case of any dispute with seller , you can dispute your charges easily with paypal than bank .

Paypal can be linked to your debit card ( if I am not mistaken )

When paying by Visa Debit card on E-bay, the transaction goes through Paypal[ as a guest].

I have already odered a book from India through ebay using a debit card. I am, many times by my friends and family, warned about not disclosing the account info to the seller located out of canada/usa, so I was a bit nervous.
Hope I get the book as described.
