While we were waiting to get our visa.... We saw some people being asked only a couple of questions.... And there were those who seemed to be desperately trying to convince the VO.... There were couple of IT guys, who were sent away after many questions....

As advised by the other members.... It's better to apply.... However, please be sure to take all documents with you.... Place them neatly and in order so that you don't have to search frantically at the window.... We were not asked any questions or for a single document.... But the VO did chat with my 10yr old son.... She asked him about school and home and where are you from and how do you like Canada and what do you plan to do in the US etc....

All the best....

Hi guys,

Just joined this forum and its good to see that desi's are helping each other.. Many of you guys have experienced US visit visa process so I would like you guys to assess my chance of getting a US visit visa. Here is my profile:

22 year old single guy.

Been in Canada for 2 years.

Orginally came on a student visa.

Currently on a open post graduate work permit.

Working as a customer support person in a call centre.

Working in this position for 4 months now.

I earn approx. $1650 a month.(not too much I know)

Also completed a short one year course in the UK.

I would like to visit New York City for a couple of days because I always wanted to and never got the chance. I do have the money now so I was wondering if you guys can evaluate on my chances on getting a US B2 visit visa.

I know that NO ONE can tell if I will be successful or not but if you guys can give me a general opinion after reviewing my profile it will be a big help..

I dont know anyone in the US and I dont have any family in Canada either but still would like to spend a few days over there...Please let me know if I stand a chance or would it be just a waste of my time and money to apply?

I dont hink anybody can tell you for sure that you will get the VISA to US ( other than the official sitting in the US consulate ) .

having said that I have seen people with bleak chances of getting the VISA, getting it .

only way to find out is by applying for the VISA but you have to be prepared to get a rejection on your passport .

All the best .

I know that but still looking at my profile if someone can tell if I am more likely to be accepted or rejected.....Please tell me,Do i need to book a hotel in the US before applying for a Visa at the consulate.

Jiggz can you please explain your situation.....I think it might be a good idea to just focus on being a PR first in Canada and then a Canadian situation...I have decided not to apply as I dont want rejection for no reason and since my profile is not strong, it is best that I do not apply now and probably wait till I get my PR atleast..

Thanks for your help guys I appreciate it..

Best is to wait till you get your PR. Once denied visa, it will leave a flag in US database and may pose a problem later on when you apply. Think twice before applying.

I agree with other members. I have seen people who have worked for the company I work and they were denied US B2 visa because they were on Canadian PR for only couple of months. You have a better chance if you show clear plans to visit and return back.
