I m thinking of sending an Acer netbook to India which is priced here @ $225 (after tax) here .

I wonder how much would the same cost in India and what are the benefits of sending it here vs purchasing from India ... viz price , quality , warranty ...

India one has a higher HD.. 320 GB vs 250 GB

Does any one know whether an Acer laptop purchased in Canada comes with an International warranty and whether such a warranty is entertained by Acer India ?

Also if sending through a friend , should we un pack it or can we let it remain packed ...Are Customs Official at Delhi harssing still ...Last time when we went , there were no Custom Officials in sight ...

Just an update - I researched and found that for Win 7 to work efficiently the minimum RAM is 1Gb .. So when you are running other programs as well - you should actually have 2Gb ....
