Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar has retired from One Day format after playing 463 matches and scoring 18,426 runs.

Sachin has scored 49 centuries and 96 fifties in ODIs.

He is the highest run getter and the most capped player in the shorter version of the game.

TK-> Good riddance. Hope he is not selected for test's too.
My opinion is that while you were in good form, we encouraged you and paid you well. Advertisers made crores from you and you made crores from them. Now that you are out of form after 23 years, it is time to move on and let some one else take you spot. We will still relish and praise you for your past. You can do some other business (like restaurants) and still make money.

He could have or should have retired & gone out on a high from ODI cricket after being part of the last World cup winning team. Sad that this great batsman had finally hang up his boots when people were asking WHEN or WHY NOT instead of crying WHY?

The home series against WI seems to have been specially arranged for his retirement and that too from the Mumbai venue. Accolades were showered on him aplenty in case he changed his decision at the last moment.

It will be interesting, what would be his performance against the other teams (not the minnows like B'desh) during the last few years.

Some of the achievements he could have made were listed out.
1) Triple centuries like Shewag.
2)Centuries in both innings of a test match like a Dilip Vengsarkar.
3)Maximum no. of runs in a calendar year like Mohamad Yusuf.

Looks like he would continue his services in the Ranji Trophy to help the upcoming players.
