Hi,

My case is a little complicated.

We lived over three years and applied for citizenship test last Feb 2012 in Montreal.

My whole family (two boys,my wife and me) need to back to my original country for some reasons last July 2012.

We got the citizenship test last week (21 Oct 2013), and did. The immigration officer did not find that I have left Canada over one year, and told me 2-4 months I will be announced to attend oath ceremony.

Our interviews were held in turn one by one. My wife's interview started just when I ended. My wife was not so lucky. The same officer found she left over one year, and told her the case will be sent to citizenship judge. He questioned her (or our?) intention to live in Canada (not enough Canadian tie).

My questions are:
1. How about my file? He told me I passed in person before my wife's test. Could my application ended in failure?
2. If we both are failed, we need to see judge together?, or separated time with same judge? or separated time with different judges?
3. My friend suggests me buy a house for the proof of "Canadian tie".

Is it a good suggestion? Does it work?

Thanks for your answering!!

Congratulations. You did get through and will get your Citizenship as soon as they are ready to swear you in.

With all of the questions and with the correct answers being made availble to you and your family, there are generally a very few failiures. So, keep your spirits up and I am sure you all will get your Citizenship soon.

NO, the Citizenship officer said that you passeed and you will get your call for swearing in within two to four months. So, cheer up. Wait for the letter from them with the appointment and with the date and time and the venue. ( Where it is that you have to go for that ceremony.)

No one failed. So, cheer up. See what the judge says when your wife is called for a meeting with the judge.

Now what did she tell the Citizenship officer. Go one question at a time and write down the answers. See where the slip up was. Do it nicely and be patient when the questions and answers get written. Do not flare up.

ONLY your wife will meet up with the judge. Not you. So, Cheer up.

This is where I am getting a little sarcastic. Who is this friend, a REAL ESTATE AGENT? If it is, then he is trying to drum up a little business for himself.

I know you have tonnes of money and you can buy the whole Spadina Block. If you are buying one for yourself and one for the wife and one for each of the kids, that is O.K. too. If any money is left over see if you can buy one for a Canadian Desi also. I will stand first in the queue. How is that for a suggestion.

You can buy a Boat and and Anchor, a Ball and Chain or get a set of hand cuffes and lock yourself to the Citizenship Offices' front door handle. It makes no difference. You all are in and you all will get your Canadian Citizenship. Your Children will be all Canadians. Your Wife can come and go, in and out of Canada any time she wants. After she meets with the judge she will also get her Citizenship. See what he has to say and inform her.

Here is a suggestion. : There are a lot of relatives that die back home. See who died around the time you visited your home town. Get a death certificate from the registrar of deaths, mentioning his/her name. Tell the Judge that he/she was very near and dear to you and it took a WHOLE Frigging year to get over his/her death and while you were getting over it, you had to get treated by a specialist. Also get a letter from any Doctor in your home town mentioning that you both took a full year to get over it. Then it becomes a COMPASSIONATE CASE. The judge will melt and start to cry too. I am doing the same while I am writing the same.

Stop worrying and carry on smartly. This is the best suggestion that I can throw at you to get over the situation.

Good Luck, now go and celebrate. You are O.K.

FH.
