Not sure when you can file the Citizenship application. If it's 6 years, then why are they promising maximum of 12 months for the Citizeneship processing. Doesn't make any sense at all.
Is there any change in criteria for retaining PR? Currently it is 2 yrs in 5 yrs, any ideas.

Here are some salient features of the said Bill:
7. Will not be retroactive, i.e. will only apply to the residents that are landing after the Bill is passed.

I cannot find any other source that confirms this--can you point me to where this is mentioned, preferably in the text of the proposed bill? It is quite reasonable that it not be retroactive to those who have already applied for *citizenship* before the bill is passed, but it's important in my case to know which parts would not be retroactive after *landing* since I would be landing later this year and could plan to do so earlier if in fact it would make a difference. Thanks!
