I intend to come to Canada and settle down. Please advice as to what are the best options to do so. I have completed my B.COM and have 8 years of work Experience. 4 years in India and 4 years in Dubai, U.A.E as an Accounts Receivable Executive. Is there an option of coming to Canada on work permit and then applying for PR. Please suggest options.

Could somebody also please throw some light on the provincial nominee program. Do all provinces have the PNP. And how does this program work.

I will provide you with a link to a Qualification Evaluation website here in Canada. It will be in the IELTS question you raised in a previous thread. I am splitting the TOPIC, partly in this and and the next link.

Once you verify your Degree and Certificates, then drop me a line. You have ample time to do all of this, as you will be upgrading your Language skills.

Hi,

My question is if a potential applicant is in India. Can he/she apply for PNP, or obtaining a job in the Province is a strict requirement?

If the applicant is in India .... the process can go like this. The Employer applies for PNP. Basically it is a vacancy or vacancies the employer has but finding it difficult to fill through immigrants/citizens. If the employer is in good standing and province believes that the employer has genuine position ... they approve the application (position/s). Then the employer can send job offer plus PNP approval to the candidate in India who inturn can apply for Permanent Residence or edit his/her profile with PNP so that they get invitation from CIC to apply for PR. If the candidate can't wait till he/she gets PR or employer wants him/her immediately, they can apply for Work Permit in India and come over here prior to the approval of PR application.

Person/s who are already here and employed can do so through PNP, from any province, through them, on their application forms. It will be advisable to check and see if there are any openings left to do that. Also you should check their time lines too.

Persons with family who are students also qualify for this. The same conditions apply for any province, as mentioned in the previous paragraph.

Visitors are not processed, but can prepare themselves if they so choose, but will have to get into the line up and also qualify for the Language skills and the Point count system too. One more item, they cannot stay behind. They will have to apply from the country where they reside normally.

You have the forms and the rest of the material needed to make a good guess and if you do need further assistance please do not hesitate to drop me a PM. Will provide total assistance, any time.

Thanks FH and Gurram. I checked all the Provinces' PNP sites, and your info resonates with them. I just wanted to check, if there's a way around for the employment pre-requisite. Doesn't look like. One of my cousins applied through the Manitoba PNP without the job offer. His wife's first cousin was there, so they landed under the family criteria. No wonder, the whole extended family/cousins in India are now after them :). I was actually wondering if there's a similar criteria elsewhere. Even in the Territories. However, it doesn't look like.

How hard/easy is to find an employment from outside the country? I think one needs to be in a niche profession to get through this route. Is there an online resource that advertises jobs for International applicants? What about commoner professionals?

Sorry to be pest. I am trying to gather info for my cousins/acquaintances in India that inquire about it so often. Something like, "Bhai hamein bhi bula le Canada mein." :). According to them, India's not booming despite of my telling them the opposite. Well, just thought to throw in some background.

So, I am trying to help and guide them to the right resources.
