Hello All,
Visiting Malaysia in March for a wedding, looking to stretch my stay two more days to experience the life there. Any input.
Never been to Malaysia but been to Singapore many times, I felt bit uninteresting with lack of natural atmosphere and left with to enjoy the culinary. I bet Malaysia with its vast rain forest, lumber and varying terrain and restaurants would be very different.

The cowards never started,
The weak died on the way,
Only the strong arrived.

I was in Malaysia in 1997.
The airport (new) will be very good. Lots of areas to explore in that.
YMCA is in the busstand area of KL. YMCA offered doube bedroom accomodation at rs 2500 a day which is quite cheap. YMCA is at the central location.
Places to see :
1. Lot 10 and other shopping centres near by. Electronics is generally very cheap in Malaysia.
2. Petronas twin tower - You can visit this. It is Jalan Ampang where many other high rises are.
3. Tower (like CN tower) a must go place to see.
4. Genting higlands - water sports area. Some 50 kms away from Kuala Lumpur. Beauty is taht it is integrated with the rain forested areas.
5. Sunway lagoon - Water sports area- some 10 kms from KL and within city limits.
6. Port Klang - Where you can see the sea. No great view and the sea is dirty.
7. Metro is a must to see.
8. Forgot the name but there is KL market where you can taste authetic food / restaurants.
9. You can rent a car and take a drive to the neighbouring villages. Once you leave KL, it will seems as if you are in a developing nation like India except for the roads and the cars. The highway jams are terrible and hence care must be taken for that.
10. Downtown - Decent place to see with the square, lawn,, central market etc.. It is walkable distance from YMCA and the bustand and the railway terminal.

I am a Gents and not a Ladies.
Thank you Mr. Kuravan. You seem like a well travelled and well versed person. You don't talk like an Indian immigrant. You have lived a good life so far Sir.
Family is soon doing an escorted group tour of Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Macau. Will pass this knowledge to them.
