I had been working as interior designer and got laid off. I dont like that job any more and would like to have a career change. I have interest for Graphic designing and Computer networking. How i can make use of my Employment Insurance status which is going to expire by the next month for career change. Which is the best place to study it in Vancouver
Second Career is an Ontario program. I am not sure if there is similar program in other provinces. You can check with agencies which provide employment support, probably something like WorkBC at https://www.workbc.ca/
Usually finding first work after completing your education and having no relevant work experience is quite challenging for youngsters, even more for people opting for career changes later in life. If you go for Graphic Designing, it may be possible to build a portfolio online that you can send to potential employers. Probably you could go for certifications in Networking if you choose that route. Also discuss these options with someone who is already working in the field. If you don't know anyone, you can ask the people in organizations like WorkBC and they may be able to connect you to someone.
