can anyone please help with this...
my parents became PR in 2017
so far in 3 years they have only accumulated about 10 months of stay...
they are saying they are not able to fulfill the requirements of 2 out of 5 years for PR...it is too much for them, they can't stay out of India for so long...
they want to renounce their PR and apply for tourist visa, which they used to have before becoming PR.
there is a process for voluntarily renouncing PR documented here:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5781ETOC.asp
my question is...does anyone know (or has experience of) chances of getting TRV visa after renouncing PR?
by renouncing PR, they are clearly indicating that they do not wish to live here, so it should be easy to get approval TRV?
they don't want to be completely stuck...PR given up and TRV denied...that is their worry.
please share opinions or experience...
Yes it is POSSIBLE.: Please read through the link below. I have given you a location from the link to WHAT HAPPENS NEXT. It will tell you how they go about doing it. If approved, then, they will proceed with the process, BUT you must request for the TRV or e-VISA together with it.

What Happens Next
Upon receiving your completed application, an officer will review your file and determine whether you meet the requirements to renounce your Canadian permanent resident status.
If your application is approved, you will be provided with a document confirming that you no longer have permanent resident status in Canada.
