I got email from one friend as follows:

Quote:

Today I received an email stating that my credit card has been fraudulently used by some one to make a purchase of US$770/- over the internet from BestBuy, and asked me to respond by going to one site and give correct information
Actually the email itself was fraud, I contacted Best Buy and my bank and they are working on it.
So if you happen to get such email, please DO NOT RESPOND
Thought I should warn you all know
Good day,

We should be aware of this.

In case your visa bank (Royal, TD, cibc, scotia...) suspects fraudulent activity on your card, their fraud dept. will personally call you and inquire about your purchases. If you deny the charge, they'll initiate a chargeback. They may also change your card no.
At times, we are not careful while shopping online and submit the credit card and personal info on the non-secured websites. Hence, we invite the hackers to get back on their job...............

This happned to me couple of years ago. Bank called me and said that somebody tried to withdraw large amount from my card. They immediately canceled the card and call me and sent me a new card with different number. Now a days I usually use my card with large shops only and avoid it using on gas station with cashier.

Credit card companies sometimes offer a type of insurance called payment protection. It ensures a person's minimum payments will be made if they lose their job or can't otherwise pay. It seems advisable, but it's really a costly shell game that the consumer is likely to lose at. https://personalmoneynetwork.com/cash-advance/" target="_blank">Visit some of our page for more info.
