We do not want to have happy or sad endings on the front page - yes we can have a link on experiences on the home page itself. We are not been unethical by doing that.

Teja - I do agree that we cannot have black and white areas on this but relevant and obvious can be removed or deleted for repetitions.

I must mention a couple of things which I have seen in this forums:

a) Most of the discussions start on a good note, there is some revelance and logic/ thought going in it. Suddenly all hell breaks lose when someone makes an off track / silly comment and for all for us that comment becomes the topic for discussion. While I do understand that this is the way the discussion must go on, please note that the thread still continues with the same title as topic for discussion, but with a tangential reasoning, logic and to sum it up - utter chaos. No one benefits out of it. It is like Chinese whisper.

b) Another point, we have the same people under aliases making comments all over the place. Dont you think this should be discouraged?

c) Relevance, be precise and benefit out of it. That must be the mantra. We need better policing.

d) Magnetism.. Tales of woes attract similar people, and soon the website would be a website which has all negative opinions. A year ago, this was my opinion of this website even before I left India. I stopped looking at the website when I was close to landing, because I always felt that this website would shapen me with a negative outlook if I were to read it everyday. Infact I started looking at this website only after I smelt success and have been contributing Volunatrily to the cds. And as many would know, mine was a success story. ( I am not boasting about it)

e) Lets keep the mantle for discussion open. Lets make it more exciting. More relevant. I have benefitted out of the immense knowledge my cd friends have posted here. Lets keep the fire alive. But change is needed and i feel it is high time we did.

f) The threads... Most of it are redundant and repetitive.

g) It is high time Senior CD's put their Brains together and come up with something good.

I wish to mention that Continuous Improvement is the key

Best regards,

Sometimes our best critics are our best friends.

This is a great site with great potential. A fantastic effort by GG , BL and Massood and i commend their involvemt to make this site what it is today.

But i dont think that some of the so called senior desis are making the job any easier for these folks here ( i am a so called senior desi too!! unfortunately )....

is it right to just keep suggesting to them how to change the presentation of layouts of the site to attract more people ?
Thepresent layout of the site is great , it could take some cosmetic changes here and there but problem does not lie in layout at all .

We, the more active members have to create and encourage an open and tolerant environment in our discussions to encourage everyone to openly share their opinions and views. The moderation by BL in the discussion groups has been very fair and with minimal censorship and he is a voice of reason with good balance . But the moderator is not responsible for the tone of the threads ....it is the frequent users who determine the tone and unfortunately we have only a few regular users left ....20-25 out of 9000+!!!

-Have we ever wondered, why those who found this site so exciting in the beginning that people signup for membership and then refrain from speaking out in the forums?
- why some very very good writers with great backgrounds have just abandoned the forum after a few posts?
-many great contributors come back very rarely nowadays ? what drove them away ? ...remember jake3d, sridhar, kraj and many many more ....

a short and easy answer some Seniors would give that these guys maybe too busy to contribute... and look at us , how dedicated we are... despite our busy schedules we volunteer our time --if we think that this is the answer then we are fooling ourselves.

its time to wake up and smell the coffee, the writing is on the wall folks !!

the truth is in the threads for everyone to see ---- just see how many contributors with different viewpoints forum were driven away by attacks by few Senior contributors.

I asked some of my friends who have astonishing tales of career successes and very valuable experiences which they could share here to join the forum ....but not one of them posted a thing ...why ? their response ..-- eh, many people are trying to stoke their egos here.

I agree with Sudhish ..its time for some introspection , esp for the regulars contributors ..including myself.

tell me about it Sudhish !!.... it is hard to post a new thread these days without someone tangentially taking personal swipe at you ....in return if one responds then the cycle goes on .... if one does not repond then they will keep taking swipes at others and keep going on

b) Another point, we have the same people under aliases making comments all over the place. Dont you think this should be discouraged?

cant do much about it , unless BL can come out of a way to block it .... it is a drawback of an open forum like CD...but troll get easily identified and exposed.

c) Relevance, be precise and benefit out of it. That must be the mantra. We need better policing.

i guess the biggest volunteer on this site after GG and BL is Massood and a few others very objective contributors. ...maybe creating junior moderators for each group might help.

Believe me guys....i have treid to bring many higly successful ...some even rags to riches people to contribute their successes on this site ....but the tone here does not appeal to many....most discussions lose objectivity and the whole thing goes into a tizzy after some personal remarks .

e) Lets keep the mantle for discussion open. Lets make it more exciting. More relevant. I have benefitted out of the immense knowledge my cd friends have posted here. Lets keep the fire alive. But change is needed and i feel it is high time we did.

Completely agree....we all have benefitted and that is why we want to stick around and contribute ..despite personal swipes and attacks .....if we dont change ...we will be left with just a handfull of us yapping around in circles....i can see that happenning ,i hope and pray it doesnt happen ...and believe me i wont be around then .....i do see a chance that we can change and we should do our best to change.

g) It is high time Senior CD's put their Brains together and come up with something good.
Best regards,

do we really want to continue in the downward spiral we are beginning to get into.?
....think about it
