My first point is that I did not find much discussion about kids education in CHARCHA, even though We all came here for our kids' future.
Please do not start discussing this point. I made this comment to get positive response.
Now, coming to main point, as per my knowledge,
There are following options:
Academic line,
Applied line
IB program from ninth class
Gifted child program in grade 5

I would like to know if special programs are really worth. It is said that you need same level of percentage and it does not matter if u come from gifted program or IB program or Academic program.
PLEASE suggest and help as my son's school is asking to put him in gifted kids program.

The IB program is for highly motivated students and is a demanding program. It challenges the students and prepares them better for university. I have 2 high school going sons - one in a non IB and the other in an IB Program. I see a world of diference in their studies and even their friend circle. I would highly recommend the IB program if your child is one of the top-most students in his class. Otherwise the course can be too demanding. Many students drop out from IB after Grade 10.
The evaluation of IB marks are done differently by most universities .... often giving extra weightage to IB.
As a parent what appeals to me most about IB program is that the child is surrounded by highly motivated students and picks his friends from those kids.
