Happy 55th Birthday Mother!
Today I promise you this:
I will love my siblings unconditionally
Irrespective of caste creed or color
I will hold my head up high
and say with pride: I am your son!
I will help every brother and sister
that I can in any way
I will not accept or give a bribe
I will not degrade another sibling
by calling him hurtful names
Madraasi, Bengaali etc.
Nor will I use religion as a way to put someone down
I will try to help at least one poor helpless soul
get an education and better his lot in life
I know we will, like all siblings
fight from time to time.
I promise I will find it in my heart to forgive
I promise to look beyond the dogma indoctrinated in me
and see everyone as my brother
I know I may not do all that I promise.
But I intend to.
Bless me Mother!
Very good Videsee!!!

A Proud Indian Canadian
This is good to see our country united even after 55 year. I know all years were not good, but still we are doing well.
There are critics saying that if we were under british rule we could have done better. May be, but whatever we have done with our limited resoucers is really great.
Still we have to do much better. We have to improve the quality of life. There are many small small things that does not require much investments, but proper management can do that.
We have to fight with corruptions. We have to fight with poverty.
It is strange that we are poor at the same time high-tech country!
I wish we all to-gather work towards betterment of our great nation.
