Open House for Foreign trained Engineers

I got this mail from EPIC-Mississauga, since i had taken couple of courses from them, thought of posting in this forum if someone needs info about PEO licencing procedure and exams.



EPIC is holding an open house session for all Foreign Trained Engineers who are pursuing their professional license (P.Eng.) from the PEO to introduce its PEO Technical Exam Preparation course program. This informative session will help you decide which courses you should be taking as some discussion on how the courses work, what course load you can expect, the difficulty of the courses and what materials you will be provided with. In addition, you will have an opportunity to meet and discuss with course instructors.

When:
Sunday, February 27, 2005


Where:
EPIC Learning Center
5759 Coopers Avenue
Mississauga, ON L4Z 1R9
Tel: (905) 361-1901


Time:

12:00 pm – 2:00 pm

Doors will open at 11:30 am and refreshments will be provided. The discussion will start promptly at 12:00 pm.


Cost:
Free


You do not have to register for this open house. Simply come to the EPIC Learning Centre between 11:30 am and 12:00 pm, enjoy some refreshments, network with others and learn about the PEO Technical Exam Preparation Program offered by EPIC.

Thanks for sharing that with us. The courses are pretty expensive though. Are they sponsorable by HRDC, during EI?

No, dear this courses are not funded by HRSDC i checked up with HRSDC guys first hand only,since i am also, currently on EI.Yes, these courses are pretty expensive and i would be glad if we in Canadain desi forum cud form our own small network group of engineering professionals who are asked to write technical exams by PEO and share the notes.I also tried to run a google search for any fundings available for foreign trained professionals

They are called back to work plan or reach back plan. They do not have any list for that but it has to be short term (1 - 4 months. no documented duration) and job ready. They try to fund you 100% for program below $5000 in fees, if course or program cost more than that they expect participant to contribute about 25% in fees. During the program period they pay your living expenses.
Some of the program funded by them are:
office administration
network administrator
auto cad
truck driving
fork lift ....etc
