And how would you think if you were the one taking care of those kids left at your day care by other parents? Wouldn't you say 'Dilli main padosi apne bacche hamare paas chod kar khud aish karne chale jate the - yahan kam se kam un bacchon ko rakhne ka paisa to milta hai, who bhi acha khasa!'

Just give a thought to this!

Hi Guys
On cannot think of having second kid in delihi.
Some body mention 25 k per month income. This is nothing in delhi now. Only if earn around 1lakh per month , then can think of rasing two kids . Most of collegue do not have second child just becose of cost of living. Each kid cost 8 k per month . Schools fee is so high ( 5 k per month).
In canada I heard that school edcucation is free,
So how good a place is if one is not able to rasie even two kids. Toronto is far better. You huys don't have to think of such thinks.
Also let me list yuu some of the usual tensions of people working/living around delhi/gurgaon

1> Taking loan of 20 lakh loan for 27 lakh 3 bedroom flat in gurgaon. This is just a minimum reasonalble rate . "Start paying moterrage for next 15-20 years

2> Lot of unwanted credit cards in your pocket.

3> Attend unwanted cold calls from banks for free credit card & persobnal loan stuff

4> make your spuose raom around in gurgaon malls every weekand shell another bucks out

5> pay high rent ( 6k and above)

6> pay lot of income tax to govt but get nothing in returns( atleast u tronto guys get medical free, kid's education free)

7> take care of ever demanding western coutiomer, that want work to be completed in very short time.

8> take care of slow indian govt babus if god for sake get problem in anything related to tax, home or anything ....

Hi infocan

You are right about the things you have written. Ii dont disagree...but life or shud I say social life here is very diff...at least for me..

I dont disagree that there are many advantages here like you mentioned...

But you are away from your family...then Canada wants more immigrants and educated class suffers...I know so many educated ppl working in Factories and many are leaving and some have already gone back...

A normal weekend for me in Canada is do the laundary..go to some mall ..or buy groceries..I know there are more places I can visit but still its not every week I can do that..

I dont realy know I have found so many mixed responses.....

Cheers!

JAS

That is an educated and informed decision you take before you move here, being fully aware that you will be away from your family.
You can always sponsor your family.

You could stop at a grocery store on your way back from work on a weekday, and also do laundry on a weeknight, leaving you a whole weekend free. Its all about being organized. There are plenty of other things to be done and seen on weekends other than the boring malls.

I always wonder why we desis whine so much about groceries, laundry and household chores, I guess coz most of us had maids and servants to do these things back in India. or does it have anything to do with the IMM.
Oh well thats a totally seperate issue out of the context of this thread.

Nice to read your comments. Atleast you talked about malls in gurgaon. Some ignorant people here think that only canada has 'Malls'.....they crack me up...lol.

And yes, 25K/Month in delhi is nothing. you will need much maintain a decent lifestyle.
Cheers,
Manjeet

C'mon, please, there is no comparison! And what about population? What about the traffic, the commotion, the getting lost in a billion people. And do you know what Toronto was and what it has become due to massive influx of immigrants? Sorry, but there can be no comparison.

yes. clearly. immigrants are the problem!? It seems that anywhere there are problems that people cannot explain.. it is always the "other guy" who made it worse. Dont you think.. government mis-management of resources has anything to do with it? or lack of vision of where the city is going..??
