Singapore, Feb 17 (IANS) Singapore's former prime minister Lee Kuan Yew has been discharged from hospital and is resting at home, the Prime Minister's Office said Sunday. Lee, who will turn 90 in September, was hospitalized Friday after a prolonged episode of irregular heartbeat led to a suspected Transient Ischaemic Attack (TIA), which means a brief stoppage of blood flow to the brain. Patients of TIA typically have stroke-like symptoms which clear in less than 24 hours. "The doctors are following up with him to optimize his anti-coagulation therapy, in order to minimize the risk of further attacks," said a on the Facebook page of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. Lee has been active at dialogue sessions and making visits to other countries and regions in recent years despite his age.
