Minsk, Sep 20 (IANS) Belarus Thursday denied Washington's accusations of trying to sell weapons to Syria and violating a UN Security Council (UNSC) resolution after the US imposed sanctions on a Belarusian state-owned company. US accusations targeting the Belarus-owned arms company Belvneshpromservice are groundless, Xinhua quoted Foreign Ministry spokesperson Andrei Savinykh as saying. "It is nothing more than an attempt to put pressure on Belarus for our country's open and uncompromising position in favour of a peaceful solution to the internal Syrian conflict," Savinykh said, adding that Belarus has always unfailingly fulfilled resolutions of the UNSC. The US Treasury Department earlier accused Belvneshpromservice of preparing to deliver aerial bomb fuses to Syria through a Syrian military enterprise.
