Rafaela sign Burruchaga as new coach

Buenos Aires, Dec 4 (IANS) Former Argentinean player Jorge Burruchaga inked the contract with Atletico de Rafaela as new coach of the football club, local media said.

Burruchaga will debut next weekend in the last matchday of the league tournament against the current champion Club Atletico Velez Sarsfield, reports Xinhua.

Burruchaga, the world champion in Mexico World Cup 1986, will be officially presented in Rafaela city Tuesday.

The 50-year-old coach was the coach of Paraguay's team Club Libertad last season. Before that, Burruchaga had coached Arsenal (2002-2005 and 2009-2010), Estudiantes de La Plata (2005-2006), Club Atletico Independiente (2006-2007), and Club Atletico Banfield (2008-2009).

In Mexico 1986, Burruchaga scored in the awe-inspiring 3-2 final against Germany, where Diego Maradona became the best player in the world.
