Our Native Country!: How to contact Indian consulate Toronto
Started by: OneIsACrowd on 20 Mar 2009
...Hi all, Has anyone contacted the Indian consulate in Toronto recently and managed to speak to a person? If so, what are the phone options and tricks for doing so? I have literally been on the phone since 9:00 this morning and no one is picking up the phone. On their menu, I select option 0 for speaking to an operator but no one ever picks up. All the other options seem to be pre-recorded voice messages.

Keep in mind that no tax has been paid on that $5K yet, in any country. Tales of divine intervention float out of local villages, telling of young girls who cry tears of blood, yogis who can lie in roaring fires, healers who can cure the sick with a single touch, Sufi shrines that ward off bad spirits, and Hindu holy men who live for decades without a single drop of water or crumb of food. But are these miracles truly blessings from a higher being, or simply an elaborate magic trick to attract fame and followers? Our Native Country!: Landmark Decision by Delhi High Court: gay sex legal
Started by: Vandematram on 02 Jul 2009
LANDMARK DECISION BY DELHI HIGH COURT: ...h about them or perceive them as deviant has more to do with the fact that it is considered a crime (socially and legally) to admit that one is homosexual. But hiding the facts does not make them dissapear. I recently read an article in the paper which many Indian homosexuals are forced to marry women (because of our conceptions of what is normal). I feel truly sorry for those men and their wives. Hopefully this law will prevent such "forced" marriages. I never thought I would see the day when such a landmark decision would be taken by the Indian High Courts. It makes me very proud of my Indian origins....

General: From where to get Whole milk in brampton
Started by: infocan on 17 Sep 2010
...Wal*Mart definetely carries whole milk (or what passes for whole milk here). It is 3.5%, usually in the red bag. It is homegenized and pasteurized. I don't know where you are from and what kind of milk you are used to, but there's not a lot of option here. You can get unhomogenized but pasteurized milk from some health food stores like Whole Foods. The only way to get unpasteurized milk is to participate in a cow-share.
