Rasoi & Restaurants: Restaurant Review: Swagruhas (Andhra Veggie) & Sagar Ratna(Delhi Veggie)

Just as a side note : They do not keep Dosas in Buffet, you will have to ask them to bring to your table (Dosa are part of Buffet though but are served fresh right from the kitchen). So, when you enter into the restaurant just let them know how many Dosas you need to start so

Life: Indian tamils vs Sri Lankan tamils
Started by: desi in ottawa on 04 Apr 2007
...It's simple caste and class. Most Indian tamils in Canada are higher caste and come from middle class background and are well educated. Most Sri Lankan tamils are poor , not well educated and were originally lower caste in Tamil Nadu when their ancestors went to Sri Lanka. Another reason may be that the Sri Lankan Tamils are NICER people.:D I'll rather have a Sri Lankan tamil as a neighbor than an Indian tamil. I'am eagerly waiting Tamilkuravan's reply! ;)

I'm not Indian but I think the Indian culture is very adaptive, it has survived colonialism and as it spreads around the world it changes. People don't have to have only one culture or participate in one culture. People can keep parts of their ancestral culture, other parts transform, other parts they pick up as they meet new people in new places. A big problem among people of many different cultural backgrounds is a focus on maintaining some type of traditional culture as if cul...

What about seating? Tables for laying down food and cutlery and drinks etc? Most parks have BBQ area/party areas that can be booked for reasonable amount. It makes the picnic more fun since there is a natural central meeting area to move towards - especially with/for kids.

They have a special hatred for Chinese and Indian immigrants, as they know we are richer and much better off than them and have better lives than them. The border and airport is the one and only place they can remove the frustration and suffocation of their miserable lives on us. So let them have their 5 minutes of sadistic and perverse power tripping and abuse. Don't fall in their trap, by retaliating, that's exactly what they want. Just IGNORE them....

That is considered as illegal. 3 year old will need a passport, but it is not required if you are entering US by road. Keep the child's birth certificate (having the parents' names) with you.    ...A friend of mine in India wants me to send him a loan in Indian rupee or canadian dollar for his business for a term of between 3 to 6 months. I can wire transfer to his bank account. The question I have are: 1. Do I need to get any permission in Canada? 2. Does my friend have to inform RBI or any other bodies in India? 3. Will there be any issues when my friend retruns the money with interest back to Canada in Canadian dollars? any tax issues, other than interest income?

... Try replacing the word "Gandhi" with Bal Thackarey, LK Advani or Sardar Patel, and see what responses you get
Posted by wall-E I think India has too much history before Gandhi to actually label him the father of the nation. But thats a separate thread.
Yes. Nobody says that Indian history starts with Gandhiji. But on same note, nobody had guts to leave their practice in Africa, abandon normal comforts of life and try to bring 33 crore people under one ideology. I believe you are a Gujarati but not from India. Try not to comment about Indian history.
