Visiting, Traveling and Picnicing: Where to get Indian Rupees for Canadian Dollar
Started by: incanada on 03 Jan 2011
...u already have the Rs. and have already brought it out of India undeclared, might as well just take it back with you and use in India. If you need a couple hundred Rs. immediately after landing in India, it is easy to convert CAD or USD at the Indian airports. And now that CAD > USD, it makes sense to take $100 USD from here and convert to Rs. 4,000+ at the Indian airport. That should easily take care of immediate needs like food, taxi, etc. ...

Direct Train to Downtown but costs $10 approx one way. 401 is brutal from Milton to HWy 10. One of my friend moved there in 2009 and misses mississauga. Everyweek he has to come to Mississauga for grocery shopping (desi stuff).

A fee for that permit is C$39.00 for a day. If we opt to go this way we will have better choice of parks. In Mississauga some parks have shaded area (just in case of rain) and BBQs too. By getting permit we can be assured not to be disturbed by other group picnics in the park on same date.    Not canteen but not Macdonalds either: ...Komala's looked too good to be an Indian canteen! But if the target was to create something like an Indian MacDonalds, then they have failed miserably. My experience was similar to many here. The food was bland and portion size was small. Finally I think the set up at the Scarb location is completely wrong. You enter the store and on the left you place your order. Then you walk over to the counter passing chair and tables with patrons already trying to enjoy their meal. BV
