I am offered CAD 80K per annum + other benefits (health insurance, bonus etc.) . Is this a good offer to accept? We are a family of two (me and wife only). What will be the standard living cost in Mississauga for a small family (rent for 1 bed room apartment, other costs)? Now I am getting INR 1 Lakh per month in India.

So reading ur natural reaction took me back in time as i had very similar feelings........ As far as indian food is considered , there is one pakistani restaurant called mehraan . Its north of church st near church and gerrard street. I dont know how far its from ur residence but its about 5 dollars per head and the food is ok. Another thing u may want to do is write the driving test exam as u have some spare time now. Dont buy the book as u can borrow it from any desi bhai/bahan living/working near ur residence. Again

   flies etc at breakfast buffet: ...we have been to the 'popular' breakfast buffet in mississauga food was good no doubt but there was an occassional fly , flying around our plates also the plates/ spoons / water tumblers regularly fel in short supply and people had to wait for them still , on the whole we foung the 'breakfast buffet' good

As far as accomodation is concerned, if you are single, you must have seen some posting for 'paying guest accomodation' for bachelors/singles on this site which would not only be cheaper but would get you other facilities as well such as Telephone, Internet and above all 'home food'. A couple of postings are for family members as well and I would say that instead of staying in a hotel or a guest house try these accomodations offered by 'Desis' and you will not regret.    ...Hi, I currently live in downtown Toronto, but have access to a vehicle. I am a student, I don't have to time to cook. I usually do lentils and rice in a slow cooker and eat it for the week. But it's a struggle to get the time to do it. Is there a place where I can buy food for the week.? I am looking for fresh food, no oil or excessive additives that I can buy fresh? Also being a student something reasonable would be preferred. Thanks!

Personal taxes and the cost of services in Halifax are among the highest in Canada. Even though we bought a house in Calgary but I can see that the rental market is very similar to Halifax. But they can cook only Punjabi food like Chole, Bhature, Naan, Tandoori roti, butter chicken, lassi, parantha, samosa, dal makhani, paneer dishes, Pakoda, Kadhi,Rajmaa, Sarson ka Saag , Makke ki Roti etc. Most of this food is greasy, oily & unhealthy except for lassi. As they put lot of oil & ghee on/in most dishes. All their curries taste the same & you will get bored of this crap in a week.
