The good thing about this area is that u have Walmart Sears and Indian Grocery stores at walking distance esp when ur family is just arriving. The rent for 1 Bedroom apartment is $799 + hydro. One thing s for sure that people at call centers in India are relatively much better off then here ....    ... Yes, PIO is the option for the canadian baby, when the parents are P.R. holders. You can download, complete and remit the fees via mail to the Indian consulate and the PIO card (like a passport, with 6-8 pages for stamping) will be mailed back to you. PM me if you need to know more details. I have gone through this few months ago and have had no issues flying baby to India on his canadian passport alongwith PIO.

Regarding the questions, I clarified with the helpline for Indian Consulate that for sections 13 and 14 of the PIO card application form, the applicant's passport and other details are sufficient.    I agree: ...I agree about the price factor at the Exotic. Also the Quantity wise it is less than other restaurants. So your trip will end up with expensive bill. But if you want real tasty and authentic indian place, this is the best one in GTA. I still go there whenever I want to spend little more than what I want and never dis-satisfied with it. If you prepared to spend little more, you will like every thing else otherwise extra large box of paneer tikka at 5.99 and home roasted deep Naan is not a bad choice

   ...Romba Thanks Murali, I have gone through the surrender certificate thing for myself when they came up with it years back . So I am aware about that. We are not traveling until next summer vacation so that is not a problem too. My main concern was about the Indian consulate slapping any fines etc. for expiry (i.e not renewing on time) at the time of surrender. Just asking because India's bureaucracy is known for notorious red tape and slothfulness. Any comments regarding this appreciated.

   ... Generally a child does not travel for the first SIX months, unless it becomes essential. All of these are based upon the Immunity shots and the preparedness of the family and the child. I am sure you will have ample time to get BOTH the Passports in hand by then. You may have to cancel the Indian one the soonest. Find the details from them or I will look it up for you and post it under this as soon as I get the details. Since there is no hurry associated with this item, I will keep it on my priority list.
