When I was in Calgary, I had met a Indian geologist (young guy whom I met at the driving school) who had come from the Gulf & was not finding a job. In terms of safety, depends on where you are coming from - TO is much safer than Delhi (and possibly other Indian cities) but not as safe as some cities (like Dubai).    ...Take it with pinch of salt. I have my family members in UK in medical field and they never had it so good.. Only place it's better for Indian docs than UK is USA.. Money, Fame, respect all is there.. now lot of fresh MBBS grads have gone there without any clinical experience and after passing PLAB a lot of them can hardly piece togather 2 sentences of english, they smell of curry, don't dress or behave professionally.. even after that the actual percentage would be much lower than what's in this report.. but then TOI is pinko-commie rag.. who

   ...I think it will go on although some of the Indians (in India) want it to fail as a means to put pressure on the government. However, the manner in which the pathetic situation has come to light in the Indian and international media will have some impact in the future. What that is remains to be seen. Remember mumbai attacks? I was in the bandwagon that believed this attack would unify the country and produce a sort of revolution for the better. Apparently, memory is short term. I'd still like to believe the new fiasco called the CWG would be a turning point. Time will tell.

In reality, Canada was good when compared to the year 2000 Indian salary. But from that time, Indian salary and quality of life has gone up umteen times while in NA it has declined. As a reality check, My last salary was $ 16 an hour and my class mate earns Rs 2.5 lakhs / months (taxable) in a housing company in Hyderabad.
