The survey found that 71% are proud to be an Indian; nearly as many (65%) think it is important that India is an economic superpower; 60% think it's important India should be a political power and the same number believe it should be a military super...

I was reading somewhere in an Indian Newspaper that there is a technical glitch in Sonia Gandhi's becoming prime minister because the Indian Citizenship was granted to her on a reciprocal basis (with the same rights as any Indian Citizen who takes Italian Citizenship would have). Since, Italy would not allow any naturalized citizen to take up the highest post, hence on the basis of that technical point Sonia also would not be eligible for the highest post. However, I am not sure whether that hold water or not. Let's see what happens next week. So far, it looks that the stage is clear for her to become Prime Minister....

Life: what are advantages and disadvantages of canadian citizenship
Started by: Amvk on 05 Oct 2012
...I do not see any disadvantage of Canadian Citizenship ... please let me know some except buying aggricultural land or voting in India .. Even in India ( as much as any other part of the world ) , you should be able to secure a better job with a Canadian Passport .... And your Indian option is always secured with an OCI ... Thats why most people yearn for a Canadian Citizenship - yet to find some one who is qualified and has not applied for one ..... except for a person who did not wish to pay Visa costs while visiting India .. which I believe can be done away with an OCI status .

Started by: Massood on 28 Jan 2003
...Canada is increasingly becoming a very multicultural place where everyone will have a REAL sense of belonging ... not just in Canada to milk it. We will see more and more professionals, more representation in politics at all levels. The day will come when it won't be a surprise that an Indian or Chinese or Mexican is a premier, a minister, a governor ... At present, when these things happen, the ethnic media and the ethnic organisations celebrate such 'achievements'. It also means more and more immigrants will be non-white as has been the case for the past decade.

On her wedding night, the husband scratches off the red spot to see if he has won a convenience store, a gas station, a doughnut shop or a motel in Canada. If he gets a ‘SORRY, PLEASE TRY AGAIN’, he is destined to a lifetime of driving taxi.
