USA: Indian Embassy Diplomat arrested
 Started by: ramar2005 on 17 Dec 2013
...We consider our guests equivalent to God, Aththi Devo Bhava, especially the whites. But now we are withdrawing the special ID passes given to American embassy diplomats and consular staff. We have also removed the special barricade which were hindrance to traffic. Now the USA may understand. The former Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan Satyabrata Pal has written an enlightening article as to why USA is wrong on the issue. http://www.thehindu.com/opinion/lead/breaching-the-vienna-conventions.

... Tungrus , while you are rightly criticising BJP's communal strategies and their loss of focus from on ground development for Indian mass at the same time you are some how making it sound like muslim victory ( I wish I am wrong here ) . Your passion for your religion is blind-siding the logical thinking. You have full right to be happy but BJP's loss in Bihar is nothing to do with muslims Sir. Rational hindu voted them out and will continue to do so henceforth till Modi changes his spunk bag and put right balls in it.

The US Dept. of Agriculture has classified it as "extreme" drought, which is the higher category, above "severe drought". Most common folks do not see it first-hand because grocery stores as still well stocked with food and water (all imported from other parts of the US, and abroad). But the problems are all lurking underneath the surface - it is not possible to abuse the environment for so long and not pay the price. If you want to live in the US, there are far better places to live, IMHO. Or...you are more than welcome here :)...

Our Native Country!: Repatriating money from India
Started by: gsrnew on 23 Oct 2017
...hello experts, I have NRO/NRE account with HDFC in India. I am looking to bring in money to Canada from my Indian account to buy a house here. I have been unable to find information on hdfc site or from the customer care regarding the process. Has anyone gone through it who can guide me? Do i need to be in India to make the transfer possible? The amount will be upwards of $200,000. Thanks in advance. Gurpreet
