One can open an account in Toronto branches by sitting in India and transfer the money to that account. Then at the time of landing, one can carry his statement of the local branch and show it to immigration. I did that (with HSBC branch) and it was acceptable!

...r company who I suppose are above 35 While in India, we see Dravid & Ganguly who are still in 33-34 out of ODI as well as 20-20 Nothing but politics I am very surprised about Yuvraj. With strong teams like Aus, he either don't perform or either injured But he get weak teams like Pak, Bangladesh, Kenya he is KING God save Indian cricket!

Our Native Country!: How much Indian salary would make u return?
Started by: Manasvi on 16 Mar 2005
Those were good old days: ...dia. I left India when Rs 3000 - 4000 per month salary (if my memory serves me right) from Bajaj (in Mumbai/Pune area) was absolutely wonderful. So you can sense my distortion. :) [/quote] Yup. Those were good old days. Living in Bajaj Auto Akrudi hostel and eating their mess food and still sending Rs 2000 / month home to parents every month. Also mixing with IIT'ians who also worked for the same salary as you (though they graduated from IIT). Well IT had changed everything now. may be bajaj was paying 8000 per month (non IT) in 2002 . Canada paid $ 7 an hour then. Now it must be paying 50K + (Non IT) and Canada pays $10.25 per hour. See the comparision. What I found most disturbin...

Where to settle: Vancouver school districts - best places to live
Started by: prakrithi on 28 Oct 2010
...couver, down town area and so is my spouse. Can some one please suggest the prices and possible locations for a 2 BR upper middle class house, (preferably a condo or townhouse not a skyrise) attached to a very good elementary school district and more than 1000 sqft atleast. Both of us drive, so being close to indian grocery etc is not mandatory. My first one is 4.5 yrs old and second one is almost 3 yrs. I currently spend around $1500 to $2000 US for a 2BR in the east coast. Thank you!
