Less hassle at the end stage. You can still apply for the supervisa, but when your file is transferred to New Delhi, all communication will be with the local Indian address. So its better, if your parents stay in India during that time or you have somebody who can access the mail and inform you of any notices.

It is the airlines responsibility to check the passenger's entry eligibility into the destination country. Airlines bear the financial cost of "deporting" the violating pasenger(s) as well as hefty fines, depending on the destination country.
