So anything which costs a dollar must be better than anything costing 30 rupees. Why do you forget you also earn in dollars. This is a typical desi attitude. When desi's earn in dollars they say they earn X amount of dollars but when they have to spend money they immediately convert into Indian currency and complain how things are prohibitively...

His boss happens to be an Indian. My friend is highly experienced and his job was offered to a fresher who was from the same community as the boss. The boss who fired comes at the end of the day to console my friend. :(

I made enquiry and while CRA allows self directed RRSP with large foreign content, I could not find any bank / Institution which can buy and hold these shares in my RRSP .    Ministership for DMK Chief kith and kin: ...We cannot say that we have reached the abyss for sure with respect to Indian democracy ever since the Indira Gandhi days. The latest is that after the elections were over the DMK chief along with his extended family members travelled all the way to Delhi, inspite of his old age and ill-health and sought and won ministership for all his family members. If at all there is an award for a family head who has fully taken care of all the needs of his family members, Mr. Ka

Accounting and Taxation: double taxation treaties
Started by: izzatsethi on 21 Jun 2004
...Need to know implications of income tax for a PR card holder living in India. Does the indo-Canadian double taxation treaty cover individual income tax.Basically i am winding up my business in India and shall be filling my taxes on my Indian income here in India. However my landing papers confirm my landing in Canada in April 2004, even though i am still working in India, only. How do I file my Canadian tax returns to avoid double taxation?

General: Parents moving to India forever- Immigration Dilemma
 Started by: vivek901 on 05 May 2014
...Somehow I find parents of wife adjust better than the parents of a husband. Maybe it is something to do with the daughter spending more time with her Mom and Dad, whilst we cannot. And daughter in laws can NEVER be a true daughter to her inlaws. As I found out from "saas bhi kabhi bahu thi" and from other Indian serials where saas and bahu clashes go on forever & forever.. The roles get reversed here in Canada where the Bahu has the upper hand and can dictate matters whilst in India she has to do whatever her saas asks her to do.

...It would be interesting to see how many people are able to immigrate to Canada, save money and then go back to India! In Indian currency, your salary would be around 43 lakhs in Canada before taxes. How you would be able to save more with only 43% more salary as compared to India when you will pay more income tax, pay 13% tax on everything you buy, and everything is going to cost a lot more as compared to India. Unless you live a lower lifestyle as compared to India, I do not see how you would be able to save money. You can immigrate for
