Crowd picks whoever responds. No team/crowd picks Sachin/Rahul kind of players - coz they care less. Symonds was easy pick as he is volatile (besides he resembles). And if Indian crowds really wanted to abuse someone racially then they would have picked someone white & not black. ...

General: Why lock threads
 Started by: wall-E on 16 Feb 2010
... threads involving these on CD run into high tempers which is un desirable as Canadian Desi is not an Indian forum but a 'Desi' forum which recognizes Indians / Pakistanis & Bangla Deshis alike . Nothing may have happened in the locked thread till that time , but going historically it risked going off the tangent and hurting a particular group . Under these lines , the mod's action is not completely unjustified . Canadian Desi is not a free for all forum where bashing and abusing takes place and we appreciate it for that . ...

And when I stopped my car to help a guy, other car drivers started honking and abusing me for holding up traffic! A value system based on monetary value. A Canadian dollar is 35 Indian rupees. So anything which costs a dollar must be better than anything costing 30 rupees. Why do you forget you also earn in dollars. This is a typical desi attitude. When desi's earn in dollars they say they earn X amount of dollars but when they have to spend money they immediately convert into Indian currency and complain how things are prohibitively...

Come Friday - in the morning we thought we would visit the mandir - again all in good faith - My husband calls in the morning to know whether they have any aarti or puja so that we could make it - The reply comes - they have some swami visiting in the morning. So if we wish we could visit - only thing women wont be allowed in the mandir till the swami is there. (WOW). - Again like good people we decide to go in the evening. Come evening, we finally make it to the temple. We are greeted by seperate sections of shoes for men and women... (...in this day and age???... Oh Well). We take the tour of the t...

I think this system has got some virus from Indian Judicial system - Justice delayed is no justice. :D This system got to increase no. of doctors and must allow foreign trained doctors to practice. Population is getting increased every year whereas quality and quantity of health care services are decreasing. Besides, this is one of the costliest health care. Due to quick, cheap and equally best health care available, medical tourism in India

Citizenship: Can I postpone oath
Started by: dowtrader on 29 Sep 2008
...Today I received a notice from CIC to appear for oath on Oct 10th. I already booked my ticket to go to India on 24th Oct for a month. My ticket is non refundable, non cancellable. I don't think I will be able to get Canadian passport and Indian visa that fast if I appear for oath on 10th. Can anybody advise me from their similar experience if ever had any or what is the best thing for me to do? Also in oath notice it states that if I fail to attend the ceremony I either have to apply from the begining (new application) or convince the judge that I had a good and valid reason to not attend the oath. I am confused and don't want to g
