   I studied there: ... courses. Kitchener is not a very big town and COnnestoga college is located at an insolated place. You should find accomodation elsewhere and then take the bus to college. Accomodation is relatively cheap in Kitchener when compared to Toronto. There is a canteen at the college. There are Indian stores but they are all inside Kitchener town. Connestoga is on the outskrirts and neat the major highway 401. Try Kijiji for accomodation (Kijiji is a website). You are going to take a technician course. you will not get a manager job here but more as a supervisor. There are some factories in Kitchener, Guelph or Cambridge where you can find employment.    Bank and Draft: ...easy and safer way is to bring AMEX Traveller's Cheques. It is immediately cashable in bank here. E.g. Royal Bank. It was a 10 minute transaction overal for me. I have also seen people bringing draft from India. We have State bank of India in Scarborough (within Toronto). It handles drafts. I am not sure of the period to encash an indian draft. How is it that the kids don't feel the cold?, I see kids without gloves and toque playing outside in the school ground almost all day. Saw some Indian ladies walking by with strollers, didn't speak with anybody yet. There is a early years centre 1 KM away, will take my daughter there next week. How good are these? Any experiences?    ...pay Capital gains tax in India, you might not owe any capital gain taxes in Canada as you can claim Foreign Tax Credit ( for taxes paid abroad ) when you file your return in Canada, so there is NO double taxation on the same property, in both India and Canada. Most of my friends in India who sold their Indian property never bothered to tell CRA. They just deposited the proceeds of the sale in their NRO account and over a period of time, in small amounts they repatriated it to Canada. Usually in amounts of less than $ 10,000 , so no one cared or noticed it or reported it....
