Peacock 1: Adjusting to high school is not easy. Actually, academically, Indian children would be able to cope; the difficult part is the cultural change and the approach to studies. The son of one of our friends managed to get into Grade 12 after doing Grade 11 in India, but that one year was really a traumatic change for him and eventually he had to settle for Humanities/Arts at University even though he was quite a brilliant Science student in India. I feel it may be a good thing for children to do at least 2 years in hig...

He never reacted to situation, never exposed his emotions or moods. He had a glum face, but a very active mind. His solution to any problem is not react to the same. The superbug has so far been identified in 37 people who returned to the UK after undergoing surgery in India or Pakistan. In an article published online Wednesday in the journal Lancet Infectious Diseases, doctors reported finding a new gene, called NDM-1. The gene alters bacteria, allowing them to become resistant to nearly all known ant...

Does it help to write a book/ article about the number of incidents hoping to serve as a wake up call? any thoughts? there is a very negative perception about the sikh community in BC.
I am glad you raised the issue. I've been thinking about it a lot lately. I am a sikh myself, was born and brought up in a moderately religious environment back home, never lived in Punjab though. It takes a lot of guts (and shame) to say that I am not a proud sikh anymore, after moving to Canada three years ago. You don't have to read the newspaper to know something nast...
Posted by over2canada Construction of Mosque near Ground Zero should not have been a big issue. Let them construct. They are going to pray there only.
The issue that most of the people have is that the terrorist that were involved in attack were Muslims. So constructing a mosque near the place of attack somehow negates/downplays the seriousness of this attack. Second, some of the mosque are breeding ground for terrorist, as see...

Our Native Country!: India is now flooded with $1 billion per week

If sustained, this will be the  mother of all financial stimuli, eclipsing the finance minister's budgetary endeavours:cheers: . :) The dollar flood is not due to the Congress election victory;) . In April, foreign institution investors (FIIs) poured $1.3 billion into Indian equities. They poured another $1.87 billion in the first half of May - before the election result. For May as a whole, the inflow was $4.14 billion, or a billion a week. This is part of a global phenomenon. Since April, $20 billion has flooded into all emerging markets. The Sensex is up 50% in 2009. But Russia is also up 63%, China 57%, Brazil 60%, and ...

Then pls answer me What If a north Indian hindu girl would have commented on FB ? We know the answer that police would have still arrested the dame being non marathi but that arrest would have been little more tragic. right ? What If a mumbaikar maratha monoosi girl would have commented like that ?? she would have been immune i suppose. no police action. Anyway the fact is that a muslim girl commented, a hindu girl liked it, both were arrested. so your logic is as crap as police's action. Just to make it clear , My viewpoint is girls were s...

They are applicable to every place in India except Bihar, where life outside a vehicle is only marginally safer. Indian road rules broadly operate within the domain of karma where you do your best, and leave the results to your insurance company. The hints are as follows : Do we drive on the left or right of the road? The answer is "both". Basically you start on the left of the road, unless it is occupied. In that case, go to the right, unless that is also occupied. Then proceed by occupying the next available gap, as in chess. Just trust your instincts, asc...

You can go to India and come whenever you like (you pay for the airfare of around $1200 a person.in 2002 it was $ 1600 / person) 12. You can own (mortgage a home). (yeah. Who gives you a job here) 13. 1 C$ = Rs. 42. (As if you will get money to send to India.
