This need not be at the expense of the good things that Indian society has built so far. Regarding your claims about instigating hate - I don't think anybody in the western world is doing that. What they are doing is drawing attention to issues which need debate in order to better society so this doesn't happen again. This includes removing "normals" that you claim are 'cycle (Wheel) of nature' or 'law of nature'. By drawing attention to this acts it removes anybody justifying this evil acts - no matter how twisted the logic...

After we won the bid, our investors spoke to Sharad Pawar and asked him which city to choose. He said 'you can take your pick', so we decided to take Kochi," Gaekwad told reporters in Delhi. Only a prejudiced person with blinkers on eyes can blame Modi for whatever happened. The fact remains that Indian people have no faith in servile judiciary. Further , Judiciary's record does not inspire any confidence in delivering timely justice. Killing of women and children in cold blood at Godhra was a final straw and anger spill over was spontaneous. It was sad because price was paid by innocent Muslims and Hindus. Italy, the country of Sonia Gandhi's origin, bans even transit visas to Indians. We are lumped with countries like Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran who are on a terrorism watch list. The commercial real estate is massively over built, all in the anticipation of thousands of companies that would want to setup their back office operations here. Once a vaccine is shown to be safe and effective, bringing a vaccine to m...

...eadlines have been pushed way beyond their limits and costs have soared, preparations have been dogged by allegations of corruption, mismanagement and poor leadership. Despairing senior Indian officials and sponsors are even doubting the wisdom of the world’s largest democracy holding major sporting events. Preparations hit new lows this week. The games’ international governing body branded the athletes’ village “filthy” and “uninhabitable”. On the same day, a pedestrian walkway – part of a triumphal arch on the approach to the centrepiece Jawaharlal Nehru stadium – collapsed, injuring 25 people. This is against the backdrop of heavy monsoon rains, which have been accomp...

Though they have no signs outside telling you not to enter, the bouncers will not allow you in. I came to know one such incident in Calgary where the bouncer stopped some Indian guys from entering the club. The globalization with exposure to west and the western media has brought in a change in the Indian lifestyle. With the affluence brought in by BPO and Call centers the youngsters have started getting used to alternative life styles. What Sriram Sena did was wrong. They cannot take law into their own hands and they cannot physically harm anybody. What they could have done was to handout leaflets or pamphlets(anti alcohol or pub culture or even Valentine Da...

Modi wondered if Maoists, terrorists and Bangladeshi infiltrators will decide the future of the country. He condemned the demand by a central minister that the Bangladeshi infiltrators be given Indian citizenship. The BJP leader came down heavily on the Congress-led UPA government for its soft approach in tackling terrorism and called upon people to defeat the Congress and its allies. \"We can tackle terrorism and Pakistan by paying back in their own coin. This government can't tackle terrorism. It can't even make a law to fight terror. How can...

... http://www.financialexpress.com/fe_full_story.php?content_id=60490 Over the last fortnight, events have been unfolding fast and thick in the Indian scenario and have left investors — domestic and foreign — more confused and anxious than ever before. Not surprisingly, the stock markets have continued to tank with foreign investors turning net sellers in May after a long, long time. The main fear of investors right now is the continuation of economic reforms in the light of the new government taking over in Delhi. The Common Minimum Programme was eagerly awaited and when it came, it w...

Your children will learn that Mackenzie King led us through the great depression and World War II but they will not learn that he also led Japanese Canadians to internment camps. And this is an issue I think my book brings up. It shows that there are always two sides to a story and that more often than not it is in the interest of a privileged few...

Nearly five years later, the couple remains stranded in southern India with no family or friends, money, or furniture for their tiny apartment. They rarely step outside for fear of being discovered and deported to Canada. “It’s really sad . . . it’s been more than four years and nothing has happened,” said Michael Battista, the Toronto lawyer retained by the couple this summer. “They feel abandoned by their government.” Theirs is a story of the still unchartered territor...

...d graft-prone country can manage the windfall. The study by US geologists found Afghanistan had reserves of valuable minerals on a much larger scale than previously believed, a Pentagon spokesman says. The value of the minerals - including lithium, iron, gold, niobium and cobalt - was estimated at nearly $US1 trillion, according to the study. But that was a conservative estimate, Colonel Dave Lapan told reporters on Monday. There's also an indication that even the trillion-dollar figure underestimates what the true potential might be," he said. President Hamid Karzai said in January the deposits could help the impoverished nation become one of the richest in the world, based o...

The Knowledge (read theory) test essentially tests your knowledge on Canadian road rules, signs, signals, and so on. You can pick up a copy of the Learn to Drive Smart booklet from an ICBC center, or simply download a PDF of it online. I found this book useful and informative, and I would recommend it if you’re looking to pass the Knowledge test in your first attempt. Once you pass the Knowledge test, you get an Interim Learner’s license (yellow sheet of pap...
