Real Estate & Mortgages: Is the Market turning around?
Started by: Rajeev Narula on 07 Apr 2009
...BOC stayed put with the interest rate as there is no room to go down further. At the same time, BOC predicted that the Prime is likely to stay put at 0.25% until 2nd quarter of 2010. I have observed a sudden jump in starter homes around 300-350 range. In the last week alone, two of my clients faced three diffrent multiple bids on properties. Part of it is due to the market strategy of the listing agents who deliberately list the home lower than its market value to attract multiple bids. The growth spurt in RE sales may also be seasonal since lot of people have to decide the home before the scho...

I have a budget of around $200,000 and am wondering whether it would be better to buy a high rise condo in downtown and save the daily commute or go a bit further and buy a townhouse in Mississauga.    ...Export of Indian Currency is strictly prohibited. However Indian residents when they go abroad are allowed to take with them Indian currency not exceeding Rs. 5000. http://www.cbec.gov.in/travellers.htm In contradiction to above, you can buy/sell INR from TD Canada Trust. http://www.tdcanadatrust.com/fx/currency.jsp

Ask Immigration Expert: First & Last name - changes
 Started by: asm80 on 22 Sep 2016
...Getting your name changed on the Indian passport will be a red tape and bureaucratic nightmare. The number of frustrated trips you will make to Indian embassy and its outsourcing agents like BLS will be ridiculous. Later on when you get Canadian citizenship and try to get OCI, they will give you a hard time if all the names on the Canadian ID's, Landing Paper and Indian Passport don't match.
