Having travelled a lot of Airlines, personally, from a average Indian background from middle class family, I havent found a very noticeable difference flying MOST international airlines. I have travelled Alitalia, Lufthansa, British Airways, Cathay, AI, Emirates and singapore Airlines. The US visa costs $$$$ , plus FBI finger printing & backgroung checks and all that jazz ..& they will be denied at the end of it :( If they are Canadian PR its a different thing ..but as Indian citizens on visitor visa to Canada..forget it. I know a girl , who is Canadian PR but on an Indian PP ( no Canadian PP yet as she is NOT Cad citizen ), she got US vistor visa in about 2 weeks after all the formalities on her Indian PP.

As regards desi supplies and restaurants, there are many. There are a couple of Indian stores in south winnipeg (where I live) - these are Indian Spice House and Deedar store. However you could get Indian supplies (eg spices, dal, achar etc) even in Super Store. Super store supplies are less expensive than those in Indian stores.    ...Lufthansa's seating arrangement is so tightly packed with no leg room, seats do not have proper cushion for your bum that after a couple of hours of your 6+ hours flight you would start to feel your behind is on fire, their food sucks and their entertainment sucks too.
