I met with a collision (taking a left turn as per rules) and the police officer told me that I was not at fault. However, my insurance has already degraded me from a 3 star to a 0 star driver. And mind you, they have not got the police report as yet. They refer me to their legal handbook and all my explainings have fallen on deaf ears. And I am sure this "GOOD" history of mine will chase me wherever I go for vehicle insurance even if I contemplated changing my insurer. I am waiting with my fingers crossed (while the storage of the car, the tow etc are still due) plus my insurer started off with 100% fault and has come to 50% fault as of now!! Any advises how to go about with it??

This is another instance of the gouging by the insurance companies ( esp. auto ) . I do not understand how they have monopolized this sector ? Your plea will fall on deaf ears unless you start shaking somethings ...

1. try talking to neighbourhood legal counsellors,

2. instead of calling your Insurance company , document written replies and keep a copy of the letter along with the registered post receipts.

3. Keep written proof of all your records and then take up the issue

4. Speak with your local MPP and write to newspapers etc.

5. Explore the possibility of taking legal help to get your rating restored.
