Guys!
This mail came to me from a friend who is in IT in bangalore (he was B.Com, studied SIEBEL for 3 months and is in IBM now).
This will be useful for IT people (fed up with canada and) who plan to return to India.
****************************************
Hi TK,

Invstmt in Indian co's /share mrkt .... i think is the rite choice rather thatn us/cananda moreover l indian share mrkt is @ it's peak now where in small/medium investors cannot even think of entering in becos of highly priced shares... inthe past 6 months record says that about 80% of the stocks have not fallen down rather a min grwth of 10-20% is there... and alomst 60% of low quoted shares have been doubled... i don'knw where it will end and the sensex points are raising by 100 points daily and almost reached 8500 mark.

Oppurtunites in B'lore are growing and exp'd guys have no problem in switching over and almost all the freshers get placement in their campus and only people in the middle who are with their fake exp and guys who start'd learnign IT courses in the middle of their career are stuc up for a brk thru .. but oppty for SAP, SIEBEL, are many.

Daily 100 peoples are resigning and 100 people are joining IBm . It's the same with all IT co's and iteration rates are more in Top co's like accenture etc.. a 2 yr IT exp guy is getting a 5 lac salary.

The current mrkt sal of an IT guy is 1.5 lac to 2 lac for his 1 yr of Exp. so just multiple the yr's of exp into the industry avg sal. ( example - 5yr exp guy will get a avg sal of 7.5 lac to 10 lac Indian rupees per annum).

I think u wld be aware of the salary of IIT/IIM guys the topper is getting 80lac's Indian rupees.

Realestate and rents are very high in B'lore where in a single bed room aptmt of 450sq ft cost u 6500/- rs in Indira nagar ( the house where i'm staying) and u can find a decent 2BHK room for 10,000/- which is almost double the rates of chennai .

2 bed room aptmts in main places of the city cost u not less than 60 lac's. Aptmt prices ranges from Rs 3500-5000+ persq ft so u can calculate the prices.

I think buying an aptmt in canada or USA is cheap than in B'lore.

So this is hw the life is in B'lre ... do mail me ur plans and doing any IT courses...

I have left out the plan of immigration.. i did'n follow up with the consulates in the pst 2/3 yrs.. As u to say that JOB mrkt is very poor ,i dropped the plan. Hw abt IT jobs in Cananda.. is it the same when compared with other profession eng/arch/law etc..

Bye, take care

Jagan

With many companies starting their s/w development centres in Bangalore, no wonder the prices of real estate are high !

It's good though that people are earning high salaries & getting good jobs. I've heard of many people migrating back to India & even some foreigners in Bangalore who are happy with life there.

Thanks & regards.

Rajan.

My friend's Boss is an American, from the US, working for nearly for one year . Has already learnt to read the local Daily, giving a shot at wearing dhotis, learning local language, eating Indian food and enjoying India.

I nearly fainted, when I learnt that one of our NRI relatives is buying an apartment for Rs76/ lakhs in India for retirement. :(

umm...no, living right there I can tell it's not quite true. Although you have to be prepared to pay anything from 50 lakhs up.

Home builders now quote 'budget homes' as those between 40 and 60 lakhs. This from a home show a friend of mine went to and spoke with the major builders who had come.
