Has any1 heard of Cognos & Informatica DW Report Writing tools and is there a fair demand of these in Data Warehousing areas?

I know that Cognos has its world HeadQuarters in Ottawa, Ontario. Looks like there is quite a demand in there...
My Husband is planning to do SAP CRM course here, as the market demand for SAP CRM is growing and the billing rate is (>$100 ) pretty high here in US. Moreover as he is in Siebel for 6 yrs, he believes it is an easy transistion for him academically. If some one has any inputs on this (e.g SAP crm market demand in Canada and billing rates etc) do let me know

i considered cognos courses 2 1/2 years ago,, Ended up doing ORacle Financials in India.

Wrong choice.

I did go through the Kimball/Ross Data Warehousing Toolkit book.
Very interesting.

I know couple of people in Cognos in their HQ in ottawa. They say it is a great company to work for. I tend to agree. They are doing well. Not like the desi bodyshoppers.

My suggestion would be to keep options open in the sense to look for fed. govt. jobs also. They pay higher than the provincial/local govts. For engineers, the pay is equal to the private sector (sometimes more). Engineers start from $58k-$62k. And the benefits are great.

No stock options in the fed govt, but who cares. Companies like Nortel and Alcatel stocks have gone to dogs. I know a few who went for stock options, got laid off within two yrs of employment, regretted for going that route.
