You've gotta be kidding..
Riots in any country are expression of oppressed or unresolved aspirations of the communities be they be minorities or majorities.. white, black, indian , chinese, are just the labels that seem to happen at the time.. Now you can go to the roots and say that becoz Indians are culturally and religion wise more peace-loving and more skilled and hence more prone to assimilation and less likely to be jobless. and that fact might prevent or delay that.. but that has nothing to do with them being Indians .. or chinese..
Riots in france are exactly like one's in US in 60s.. or one's in India during the whole Mandal controversy .. they are rioting coz their voice wasn't heard thro' normal channels .. and what are they supposed to do..? just keep on living?? welfare and homes in shantytowns aren't what keep people happy.. it's always the perception of progress.. that your life is better than your fathers and your kids future will be brighter than yours.. that is what keeps societies looking forward.. it's got nothing to do with color of their skin or God they pray to.. it's economy stupid!
and otherwise, do you mean to say that there is no crime in Canada?? How according to you the life of a common man is safe in a place like Toronto?
