Hi All,
I landed in May 2002 and returned back. I have got my PR cards which are delivered to my friends house and subsequently, I got them in my hand. I was there only for a week and just came back without any travel document . I am under impression that the PR card is the visa for the next time entry and did not apply for any travel document.
I am confused by the reference of the travel document by the fellow desis.
Is it compulsorily required to travel back to Canada. Is the PR card canot be shown as a visa to the Airlines people.?
Please clarify. I am planning to go to canada in Feb or March 2006. Though at present , I have decided not to settle down there, this is an useful information which I can pass on to the newly immigrants who are planning to come back after receiving the PR card.
Thanks in advance

the PR cared proves that you are a legal resident of canada and there fore you donot need ny Visa to travel to and from Canada. if you have the Card in your possesion that is all you need. show that to the airline.
my husband traved to India that way. that is the whole point of having a PR card. But have you not gone beyond your date. Idf you made your first entry in May 2002 then your 3 years get over in may may 2005 better check
Sorry, I made a typing mistake, I landed in May 2003.
Anyway, thanks for your reply.

Hi,
basically travel document is for those immigrants who are not having pr card. for persons having pr card there is no need of travel document.
you said you are planning to move to canada in feb/march 2006. i hope you are aware of the rule of staying canada for atleast two years in a five year period. take care of that rule if you willing to maintain your pr status.

If you landed in May 2003, returning in Feb/March 2006 is safe.
