Does anybody have any good or bad experience about Delhi Airport, during their visit to India?
I am going to Vadodara via Delhi Airport. The only thing I am able to figure out is that there is a shuttle service run by Airport as well as Indian airlines to go to domestic airport from international airport.
Other than this, does anybody have any good or bad experience with customs or any other officials?
No offence, but Delhi does not have a very good reputation when it comes to visitors. So I better be prepared rather than landing into any unfavourable experience.

On a side note if anybody finds my comments or posts offensive or irritating please ignore it and if that still bothers you; please write to me and I will demonstrate.
I have been going to India and to Delhi for last 20 years and I have seen the airport and the authorities change for the better. Infact, I was so surprised on my last visit in 2004, after the customs check (on my return flight), the guy actually told me 'have a nice flight'!
No, these days customs officers do not bother you and in fact the crowd going to the green channel is way much larger than the one going to the Red channel.
One thing I alway make sure of whenever I am travelling to another country is to be well dressed. That itself makes a lot of difference. Well you do not have to be suited-booted but well dressed person makes a better impression in any queue any place!

It is no hassle. In case of problem ask to talk to assistant collector customs or a senior officer. They are cool. Note down the name. There are clear instructions that Customs at Airports are just for PR and not for extra zealous collection of taxes. However they are strict about contraband.
On other hand if you have anything extra than free allowance please do not try to pull a fast one. They have gadgets to see through luggage without your offering to do so.
All normal stuff ( used clothes, gifts for relatives etc.) no one bothers these days.
You can see them as friends, but formal friends.
Best of luck.
The last time I flew to Kolkata thru Delhi was in Nov 2002. I will never fly via Delhi again. Bombay is much much better.
I touched down at Delhi International Airport at around 12:30 PM. We were told that KLM Shuttle buses are outside.
There was total confusion. After running from one end to another - I could finally locate a bus from Airports Authority which would take us to the Intl Airport.
It was parked near a Paan shop and the Buswallas/Conductor demanded money (said, even dollar is good enough, if you don't have rupee). I did not give them a penny. So I had to load my big suitcases up the 'stairs'. Mostly older people - who could be intimidated easily and who would avoid any hassle, were fleeced. I had to bring all those big suitcases down when I reached Intl.
Also, there were tons of taxiwalas just outside the Domestic Airport - who literally started pushing our luggage carts to their cars. And keeps bothering very very much whether you want a cab or not. Anyway, I got them off my shirt.
This is the biggest problem in Delhi vis-a-vis Bombay, where your transit and luggage is taken care of very professionally.
While coming back, we came back via Bombay and everything was so well organized and taken care of.
Best of Luck
The shuttle buses are by Airport Authority, and free.
