I feel you are getting the same (and mostly correct) info but u r still confused.

1. Come to vancouver with yr family with landing papers, provide your friends address at immigration where you want the PR cards delivered.

2. Apply for the SIN card (for all the members in the family) with your friends address.

3. Return to India and comeback when you have finalised your ties.

If you need to come for interview (which is a rare case)for the PR, you will receive a letter which will be sufficient for you to get the visa to enter without PR. If your friend receives the PR, he can courier or send it with somebody to you in India.

You will need your SIN card when you apply for jobs, bank account, credit cards etc... It will save time when you return.

You can get all this advice from your friend in Toronto too.

For PR photos, you should already have submitted those photos (4 for each applicant) alongwith your passport for Visa stamping. You wont need any more for the PR.

IF you have have NO OTHER OPTION..
then go apply for PR, SIN and open bank account..
then come back and take your chances.. whats there to decide.. more discussion will only cause headache and worries.. do it.. no big deal.. something happens .. deal with it..
