Hi,
My "Application to Sponsor a Member of the Family Class" (to sponsor my Mother) was received by Case Processing Center, Missisuaga on 8th July, 2004. I haven't heard about my file after that and I hear that they are only processing October 2003 applications, at this point. So, I understand that it will probably take another 1.5 years before my file will be sent to Canadian High Commission at New Delhi.
So, I want to apply for a 10 Year Multiple-Entry Visitor Visa for my Mother. This will enable her to come and visit me here in Toronto every year, till the time she gets her Permanent Residency Papers.
I believe, our Minister Joe Volpe has already announced that people in my situation would be allowed Multiple-Entry Visitor Visa. And this is because of the huge backlog and delays in Parent Sponsorship Applications. Am I correct ? Is there any chance, I will get a long-term Multiple-Entry Visitor Visa of say 5 Years atleast ?
Your response is Appreciated.
Warm Regards
Shaibal
There is nothing called 5/10 year multi entry visa. There are only 2 kinds of visa single/multiple entry . The duration for multiple entry is decided by the visa officer. Recently in Oct i applied a multi entry visa for my dad as his last multi entry finished(issued for 3 years till his passport expiry) and this stupid people gave him 1 year multi entry and charged me for full price. So it is mainly depending on officer's mind and i think they do see the age of the parents.

Hi,
What are the documents needed for a visitors visa for parents? Is there any minimum residency requirement needed to sponsor them for visitors visa?
Is there any agent in India who can do this?
Thanks.
