Hi,
Hello to everybody.
I want to start by thanking all of u people out there & thanks to this great site. I appreciate that all u people are
Taking there precious time out to put your views & comments on this site. I again thank everybody. Now, let me start
By introducing myself i am prem k saini from Bombay 34 years age. Married. Basically I have done diploma in chemical engineering and mechanical engineering. I know you may be in doubt by now as there is long story why I done double diploma. Anyway let's not come to that point. In India I worked with (l&t) for one project in geographical information systems. I also worked in bulk drugs (pharma) company. Kopran ltd. Then as everybody know money makes you go around. So I landed in Qatar. I worked in Qatar (Doha) for three years in (mechanical-electrical-plumbing (mep)) contracting firm. Then I again came back to India to move back to Oman for one year, then to UAE. Presently i am in Dubai. I am working on the world's tallest tower, which is coming up in Dubai ( burj Dubai) see the photo attached. Also I worked on so many prestigious projects in gulf. So in other words i am from construction industry. My main field of expertise is in mep co-ordination or you can say in Canadian context a drafting technician. (AutoCAD professional).
I want to know what are my chances of getting success in Canada (Toronto) or any other suitable place. Do you feel I will get job easily or I have to struggle like donkey again. My English is good I scored 7 in IELTS. I will really appreciate all of your comments & suggestion no matter whether it is negative or positive.
Now let be give you a brief look at my wife’s details basically she has done
Bsc in biology science, msc in organic chemistry, post graduate diploma in environment & ecology and then finally she completed her ph.d in chemistry (solvent extraction) from university of Bombay in 2005. Presently she is working in
Bombay. But as you all know salary is just rs.6000 i sometimes feel shame about being an Indian. It is not that I don't
Love my country but it is too much to bear this even a normal office boy makes more money then my wife here in gulf.
I want to migrate not for me but for the good future of my wife. But again I feel very depressed after reading
Comments on this site. I really get confused what to do. So I request all of u to please give me some practical
Advise to go for Canada or stay where you are. I will be very thankful if you mail me or give me some references
Or suggest something. My email add is
Please suggest me some sites where I can get info about the location of chemical industries, research centres, contracting
Companies, etc. I also request for the information about the value of Indian driving license. Does it carry any value or how anyone can proceed for driving license in Canada ? What is the type of test involved? Etc.
Finally i am ending this by saying best of luck to all those who are struggling in the land of opportunity.
Thanks to everybody.

Dear Mr. Prem,
I am right now located in Muscat adn will soon migrate to Canada. Well please take this as my personal view and not a general view. I am having a very comfortable and well secured job as well as a graphics Designer and a Web develpoer with the ROP. My payscale is good. I am just a graduate (B.Sc. IT) and a few certificates in video editing and graphics designing which are not so creditable. If you will hear about my wife you will faint, she hasn't completed even her graduation adn that too from hindi medium. But I have decided to move on to Canada. The main reason is for kids' future. I do not say that I am very confident about finding job which will pay me like what I earn here immediately but I know that I can make it big there.
Well, the bottomline is, be positive, yoru wife is very well educated, plus you ave vast experience, so the two of you can really make a good team and make it really workout well. If ever you come across any negative replies or experiences just ignore it and think that it is their personal experience. Always look at the half filled glass rather than a half empty glass. God gives us tough times to make us strong and so taht we can enjoy the good times better. So my friend, don't think so much and go ahead, come over to the so-called land of opportunities. and God helps people who help themselves.
God Bless you.

Why does a Global Moderator needs to make fun of people?

Ashish
Yes ashish I do agree with you, moreover I being a "to-be immigrant" would expect all the present immigrants present out there in Canada & who go through our postings boost up our spirits so that we are not disheartened before even landing there. So guys please....
Thanks
Nobody can predict your success or failure in Canada.
Nobody can predict your wife's success or failure in Canada too. I think it all depends on person's approach, luck, education, demand in that particular field, etc. Not everybody is going to find the job he or she likes. Some will, some won't.
You want people to do the research for you? Use google for now. After you immigrate, you can go to library and you should find some book on list of companies, etc.
For driving related queries, you can see the posts in "driving" section of canadiandesi.
Indian degrees may not be recognised and you may have to recertify again (does not apply to all fields though).
