Thanks all of you for your responses and making me comfortable about my wife's settlement. Shankararacharya, as far as my profession is concerned, yes I have done a long research and have found many studios who hire full-time/part-time video editors at $40-45 an hour. I have a background of 14yrs experience in the media plus there are many agencies who are ready to give out freelance graphics projects. So for myself I think there shouldn't be any problem. And then wherever you go there are always cons and pros. I am a man who takes life as it comes, don't worry about the future, & don't repent about the past, but give out your best you can and leave the rest to god. I am not afraid of hardwork or even tough times. Well I think enough of flattering myself..:D.

DO NOT WORRY ABOUT YOUR WIFE. THERE ARE PLENTY OF PEOPLE LIKE HER HERE. SHE WILL BE ABLE TO FIND A JOB IMMEDIATELY AT $8 PER HOUR AND SHE WOULD NOT COMPLAIN. SHE WILL FIND HERSELF AT HOME, WHEN SHE FINDS MANY LIKE HERE AT HER WORK PLACE.

DO NOT WORRY ABOUT HER, SHE WOULD SETTLE DOWN NICE HERE. CANADA REALLY WANTS PHYSICAL LABORERS. IF YOUR WIFE IS WILLING TO DO PACKING, CLEANING, STICKING LABELS SHE WILL FIND ENOUGH OPPORTUNITIES IN MISSISSAUGA.

.

Shankararacharya

If his wife does not have a post secondary education or skills in a particular field, does it matter whether she is in India, Canada or any country? She would still likely have to find entry level employment anywhere she is.. am_very_friendly's idea about having her do catering or a 'tiffin' service is a good idea. This can use her skills that she does have as a home maker and enable her to be financially independant.

There is *nothing* wrong with service occupations. You sound as if it is degrading to be less than a "professional". Every job every duty is equal in this country.

The thing which is worrying me the most is about my wife, who is not so well educated. She is not at all good at english. I know I will have a tough time there, but she has started learning English. Now can you please give me a brief idea about how this is going to affect our life there? Is there anything she can do while she learns English. By the way she is a very good cook and she has a pleasing and friendly personality. She is smart in every other way except for the language. Can you please suggest some ways that she can give a helping hand in household expenses? Can she do babysitting? Are there chances of providing breakfast/lunch/dinner on a monthly paid basis to bachelors/students/etc.? What other ways can you suggest? Your valuable experiences and suggestions will be very helpful and appreciated. I hope to recieve some positive responses.
God Bless.

Dear am_very_friendly,

You are shifting to Canada with your family. You may find a good job in Toronto in first couple of months. And then you may, eventually, set up your own studio, employing a dozen of people.

Have you considered that whose luck is taking you places? Normally it is difficult to tell whose destiny is taking the entire family places. It may be your wife who, even while taking care of family staying at home, maybe prime driver of all the good fortune which is going to come to you. So never worry about her. She is going to be your biggest asset in Canada.

:)
