It's a given that being fluent in more languages not only helps ppl in careers but makes them more aware of other cultures.. after all language is a window into the community. BUT bilingual policy of Canada is acting as a divisive wedge that serves to keep Quebec apart from all the other provinces.. One country 1 language and 1 people.. that's how it should be.. if Quebec wants French as additional language that's fine.. and they can continue doing business in french but to force a village in Yukon to have bi-lingual forms ready is plain insane.. it's foisting minority preferece over other 90% folks of the country.. and it's giving Quebec special preference.. whats to stop Arabs from coming up with Arabic requirement when their numbers become sizable.. ?? why stop there.. why not have gujarathi, africana, Italian...?? you see where it's going?? it's divisive.. after 1st generation gets assimilated .. 2nd generation should be non-hyphanated canadian.. no more French-Canadian or Indo-Canadian.. I want my kid to be just "Canadian"...
