I am also looking for the same answer is it cheap to buy insurance from india or is it worth to buy insurance from canada for persons who are visiting canada.

Buy from Canada, it turns out to be expensive but all hospital accepts it.

It would depend on the type of coverage, age, duration etc. Speak with Pramod Chopra his brother (Naresh) does that.
