Woh rikshaw ka ‘saffer’, woh Sur sagar ki hawa,
Woh dutch roses ke kante aur Kamatibaug ka sama.
Woh December ki zara si sardi, woh baarishon ke mahiney,
Woh garmi ki chuttiyan, jab chute te they paseeney.
Woh holi ki masti, woh ARKI aur Unitedway ke garbe,
Woh diwali ke patekhe aur ganpati ka shor o sharaba.
Woh Uttarayan ki patange aur woh Akbari ka Dora,
Woh Ajawa ka Garden aur woh Nimeta ka Water Park.
Woh R.C. Dutt road ka mahol, woh Fatehgunj ki leheren,
Woh doobte suraj ka nazara, Wah uske kya kehene.
Woh Muffins ke puff, woh KOKA ki chai,
Woh Jagdish ke bhakarwadi, woh mahakali ka “Sev Usal”.
Woh Raju aur yusuf ka Omlet,
Woh bachpan ki yaaden, woh gotion kaa khel,
Woh school ki life aur woh College ki Zindagi,
Woh Sindh road ka rasta aur woh Science Kenteen ka nasta.
Woh Sardar baug ke jhaadiyan, jahaa hotey they mel.
Woh Rajashree ka samosa aur National Plaza mein shopping,
Woh Sayajigung (homescience) ka nazara aur Concorde building.
Woh Convent ki ladkiya aur woh homescience ki beauty,
Woh 25th ka Christmas aur woh 31st ka funfare.
Woh Alpana cinema ke queue, woh black ki pink ticket,
Woh Polo club ka maidan, jahan bachche practice karte hain cricket.
Itni cheezen kehene ke baad, aur kitni karoon mein abaad,
Yeh shehar hain mera apna, jiska naam hai B A R O D A

Man........I'm sitting at my work with my mouth watering....this is torture......did we cover Raju na khaman...??? I've spent my teen days in Baroda and don't seem to have missed any road side places mentioned.

i m from baroda too...i miss it more then anything. it was fun there. i have seen this poem before but like to read it again and again.

Always wanted to study in Baroda. But somehow could not. I must confess that my teen days in Baroda were the most beautiful time of my life till now. Never imagined I would be here in Canada missing those days, just took them for granted.

very soon I will be in Baroda, 25th march (actually 26th march since i would be reaching after 12 night).
