Applied through Singapore in July 2001, Interviewed in December 2002, and Medical in April 2003.
Yet to see anything except in process, when checking through website. On a recent inquiry the visa officer replied to ensure me that my application is under active consideration and please wait to hear from them.
Any suggestions?
Its all so frustrating.
Wait couple more months and then do a follow up.

Thank you for your prompt reply Mr. Massood. When I applied the Embassy advised me that the case processing time is 15-27 months. Do they often miss their time frame? Is it norm? I have reason to believe that the background check is holding the final outcome.
they have been very bad in the past year at meeting their own estimated time frame mainly because of implementation of new Act and training, appeals and confusion. the dust seems to be settling now ... for the better [I hope]

Thanks again Mr. Massood.
So the best bet for now is waiting I guess. I hope to get back to the board as soon as I hear some positive good news. Cheers
dont worry it takes time but does come thru ...i sent my medicals in march to US embassy and got my passport request 2 weeks back.
So just sit back and relax...once you get it a whole new agenda will open up in front of you for moving ...so till you dont have it enjoy the time .

Thank you Mr. Mishtar India and congratulationssss! The waiting frustration made me search through several Canadian Immigration related forums. I am shocked to learn that some prospective immigrants spend up to 4 years for the process. It is simply outrageous. Why in the world they don't revamp the system for good? Anyone with a monkey's brain would agree 4 long years is unbearable by any standards. Maybe we all should start writing to some higher authority or parliamentary panels?
